Meet the team of litter pickers who enhanced Kent’s savannah!

Litter Picking At Port Lympne 1

Swathes of Kentish savannah have been enhanced by a powerful team of litter pickers.

Eight employees from our London offices helped tidy Port Lympne Reserve near Hythe for the benefit of visitors and animals alike.

The 600-acre safari park is a breeding sanctuary for rare and endangered animals, and home to over 900 animals including Kent’s only spectacled bears, western lowland gorillas, black rhinos and big cats.

The team used our company’s Donate a Day scheme which gives every employee two paid days to volunteer in the community.

Emma Kemp who helped organise the day, said:

We absolutely loved the day being in the fresh air, litter picking whilst seeing all the animals en route. We received a warm greeting and the day ran safely and smoothly. The highlight for all of us was a safari tour!

Simon Griggs, volunteer coordinator at the reserve said:

The team spent their volunteer day with us at the reserve litter picking, ensuring that not only the reserve is kept looking at its best but also making sure that the reserve’s wildlife - both local and the collection - are not affected by it. The volunteers’ help throughout the day was greatly welcomed and appreciated in achieving our goals.
