Rain won’t stop play for a young Leigh team

Insight Article Catholic Pumas

Rain wont stop play for a Leigh-based boys football team now that they have team raincoats.

Thirteen boys train for the Catholic FC Pumas U10 every week in Westcliff every Saturday morning and play in the South East Essex Mini Soccer League North East Division on Sunday mornings.

The boys were able to buy the branded macs, and hoodies for recent joiners, thanks to our Team Sports Award through Tony Blackwell who works for UK Power Networks Services as a senior project manager. Tony’s son Noah is currently the team’s top scorer.

Tony said the team were very grateful for the £300 grant for a second year. Last year they used it for branded hoodies for the team.

This year the firm has donated £29,400 so far to local sports teams under the scheme which supports teams where employees help out.
