Nuclear
We know the importance of a reliable power supply when constructing nuclear power stations.
The construction of new nuclear power plants can be some of the largest infrastructure projects in the world. Designing and building the electrical infrastructure required to power the construction of these power stations is therefore an incredibly complex task.
We’re undertaking the electrical works and construction of electrical supplies to enable the construction of Hinkley Point C. This involves the construction, design, management, supply, installation, commissioning and testing of the electricity network, incoming supplies and other remedial works.

Hinkley Point C is the first nuclear power station constructed in the UK in over 20 years.
Positioned as the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK, Hinkley Point C is expected to provide low-carbon electricity for around six million homes.
This is the first new nuclear build in the UK for almost 30 years, making us the only British company with the expertise required to support future builds. Our proven expertise in this area, highlights that we know what’s important to those businesses who’ve taken on the large task of constructing the UK’s next nuclear power stations.
We also bring extensive knowledge from a wide range of large scale, country critical infrastructure businesses such as airports, railways and Ministry of Defence facilities. Knowledge acquired by designing, building, and operating and maintaining their electricity infrastructure for decades. We’re able to leverage this cross-sector knowledge for our clients in their own industries to improve resilience of electricity supply, reduce energy costs and improve safety performance.
Keeping costs down
With an estimated build cost upwards of £20 billion, nuclear power stations such as Hinkley Point C are very expensive to build and finance.
In every area of the design and construction we place a significant amount of effort into reducing cost, improving efficiencies, and ensuring there is continuous improvement throughout the costing, design and construction processes.
Delivering resilience
Power failures mean delays. Resilience of electricity supply is crucial to ensuring the programme of work is kept on schedule. Even a power outage of a few seconds can result in delays which take days or even weeks to get back on track. Failure to provide resilience on an infrastructure project of this scale leaves owners facing large cost increases as well as timeline blowouts.
